Inspired by a walk along Walker Riverside via the former train lines through Byker with Wayne Lancaster aka Inspector Fogg, discussing the industrial past of the area and abandoned railways in general.

Our walk terminated at a clearing featuring three twisted pieces of curved metal sheeting embedded in the ground. Four short recordings were made featuring the two of us tapping, thumping, kicking and jumping on parts of these sculptures.

The recordings were edited into a final track, Ghost Train, with the two previous tracks included here being variations of parts of the whole, highlighting some different textures from the mix. Deadlines features a cackling crow (the only non metallic sound on the recording) while Minute breaks up the two longer tracks, taking inspiration from screeching rails and overhead cables.

Upon trying to research the sculptures online for more information afterwards, very little could be found. The only title it seems to have been informally given is 'Blue Sculptures' on Google Maps, which seemed a fitting title to borrow.
